[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Community and showing your support to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Update from the 23rd of Feb 2023:

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

Thanks.

Jeez how many of these exact same requests are Spotify going to set as "Not right now"?

No one wants your stupid podcasts from people we have never heard of.

sorry for the rant, but i have to get this out.
i tried to find out how i can cutomise the home screen. because i really don't feel like scrolling down forever for my mixtapes, release radar or mix of the week. and now i find out that i can't even change the home screen in one way. user friendliness says hello. or not. i wouldn't mind if any podcast suggestions (even though i don't listen to podcasts) were simply displayed after the suggestions for me. it could be that someday something exciting can be found among them. but the fact that i'm then bombarded with "hot music" or podcasts that don't interest me is actually a shame for a paid service.

further, if spotify can't even tell the difference between a rapper named avatar and the metal band avatar, and i regularly have weird songs in my mix of the week that don't match my taste in music at all, maybe someone should revise the algorithm. or i should cancel my subscription.

Spotify can learn from the community about personal preferences and control.
Spotify's "algorithm" causes more frustration, forcing people to face increasingly bad "features", to get to the little good. It seems other technologies i.e., Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, understand how to tailor a homepage to eliminate things that are not relevant and unwanted. Spotify's priorities do not allow for personal preference. Instead a program judges what a person gets, and limits a person's control, at a cost.

I'd pay an extra dollar a month to turn off podcasts.

Hey Spotify: there's 53 pages of comments here dating back quite a while. I think it's pretty clear what people want: ability to customize the home screen. Please add this feature, even if only on Premium accounts.

I'd like to inform Spotify that because this request is being ignored and there is no work around I will be canceling my subscription and removing the app. There is offensive content on my home screen that I can't remove. This is unacceptable to me. There is no way I can continue to use this service or recommend it to others.

me too. is anyone listening?

I once saw a Daily Dad Joke 'thing' lurking somewhere, and made the huge mistake of clicking on it, just to see what on earth it could possibly be.. assuming it couldn't possibly what it seemed.

It was.

But worse than that, I am now treated EVERY DAY to a list of things that other people who like 'Dad Jokes' also like.

I don't like 'Dad Jokes'.  I once clicked on a daily list to see what it was.

Now, at the TOP of my home page I am subjected to Dad Joke related garbage..

Seriously Spotify, this is such a poor UX it's untrue.

Change this please.

If 'Not right now', then when?

It makes your app look really really Noddy, and annoys me pretty much every single day.

Believe me when I say, not a day goes by when I don't regret curiously peeking at Daily Dad Jokes.

This needs to be a feature now. Like everyone else, I'm having very annoying recommendations that are irrelevant to me and most cases lude. I DONT WANT TO SEE TWO KOREAN LESBIANS KISSING ON MY HOME SCREEN. Spotify you need to take this seriously.

I don't even mind a homepage that isn't customizable but  simple Toggle Podcasts on or off button would be ideal!! As a premium user, specifically for music, I really think podcasts are junky and ruin the aesthetic of my home screen. If I wanted to listen to a podcast I could then toggle podcasts on and listen. I understand that podcasters need a chance to be seen and advertised, so even if its not a toggle but maybe like tone it down a little.
