[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Community and showing your support to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Update from the 23rd of Feb 2023:

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

Thanks.

And here's me thinking this is a new problem! Just seen the 66 pages of comments on this and glad to see I am far from the only one with problems in terms of customization of the app. I would have thought that basics like being able to remove a playlist or podcast from a screen is a simple procedure. Netflix and Prime video have this a basic, so why doesn't a powerhouse like Spotify? Sometimes you just don't want things popping up on the home page whether that's embarrassing content, or simply playlist that you've listened to a single time, and then figured out its not for you. Please get it fixed!

Podcast should be removed or at least filtered out in a totally different area, the non-music area. I want to hear music not blah blah, I can get lots of blah blah from a radio. Thanks.

Please allow us to hide Podcasts.

The home page Good Morning and in particular Episodes for me is not only bad, it's offensive.

See misinformation (Joe Rogan) and **bleep** related items just can't happen.

How can Spotify say this won't be addressed?

BraveKnight

It's unreal that an option to remove something from the home page is not available. (I don't like an artist /podcast so I should be able to long tap and choose remove) It's unreal that after 67 pages of this thread there is no interest by the programmers to add any options at all. Give us something?

My home highlights podcasts for adults with embarrassing covers: via carplay they are on top even with my little daughters or colleagues. Useless to say that I don’t listen to podcasts or radios at all. Spotify shows me pants & **bleep** probably because I’m adult and male, discriminators!

The probably get paid to put their **bleep**, hooker, and disinformation content on their site.

I tried the agent chat, had to restart with 3 different people. Only one of them said they would contact their content curation team. This has nothing to do with curating content.

I like Spotify, but I am starting to look at other music services that don't promote **bleep**, prostitution, and disinformation in my home page.

I'd encourage others to do so as well!

I follow DitchBall over here. Would love a custom home page.  So much 'junk' that I'd never click on, much less listen to. Get rid of the music that has no connection to any of my listening habits ++

Spotify is suppressing all topics, concerning the hiding of podcasts, from the front page. Alle three major topics have 30, 60 and 80+ pages, but do not show up in the "Popular topics" (which have less pages). Not even in the "Latest topics", though there are new replies. Willfully suppressing our voices, it seems to be.

Never have I seen a company which so blatantly chooses to ignore its paying customers!

Best thing to do since Spotify won't address this, is go to another service.

I am doing that now.
