[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Community and showing your support to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Update from the 23rd of Feb 2023:

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

Thanks.

Went from pron0graphy (why even censor this when it's fine IN the program?) and communism to ....horoscopes? and dutch investment podcasts?

can you please stop? where do you even get these recommendations from?

Bowcox

As soon as I open up the app, I'm greeted with episodes, playlists, genres that I generally don't listen to. I don't want any of this. Being able to get rid of certain things, similar to notifications on an iphone to clear up the home page and maybe in the future be able to add stuff would make my listening experience way smoother.

Part of listening to music for me is being able to discover artists by myself. Getting fed music to listen to kind of defeats the point. Customisability is a must.

adidass

Don't want to see ads for dumb youtubers and politicians talking for hours about nothing. Especially cause we paid for just that, not having ads. Actually kind of scammy.

moto-ray

Please let us customize the home page. I pay for Premium with no ads--this means I don't want ANY ads and pushing podcasts on me is advertising.

planetxpress

I paid for no advertisements, yet I am being advertised politically-charged podcasts on my home page while I don't even use Spotify to listen to podcasts in the first place. The fact that this has been an open issue for years with no fix tells me that this kind of political advertising is intentional and I need to look for other solutions for listening to my music library.

onlytocomplain

please, please, please let me hide the tiles that annoy me. There's plenty of examples in the comments to this request, which show clearly that much of the content of spotify would be bleeped out if written in this forum, so why do I have to put up with it on a daily basis?

V01

Common guys we need cancel our premium subsciptions! This MFs understand only language of money!

Mac_Holgate

Just chiming in to add my monthly "This **bleep**, let ME control how MY page looks" comment.

I don't want ghost of podcasts and artists I didn't enjoy haunting my app every day when I boot it up. If I enjoyed them they would be in my favorite list, not an annoying reminder that I can never get rid of and need to scroll past on a daily basis.

How many more years do you plan on ignoring the suggestions of thousands of users?

willyroo

4+ years of this suggestion and still no movement.  Yet Spotify messes up useful features (car mode anyone?)...  Why, oh why, must podcasts I have no interest in remain "stuck" on my home page?

Natwek

My homepage looks super annoying. Sometimes it stops me from opening Spotify. This intrusive kind of promotion definitely doesn't help the podcasts are being "promoted" to promote. It rather makes them unwanted and hated.
