[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Community and showing your support to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Update from the 23rd of Feb 2023:

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

Thanks.

LOL I am dead.  So Spotify has the wherewithal to replace my minor cursing with **bleep** but can't apply similar levels of discretion to podcast suggestions involuntarily placed on my Home Screen for all to see?  WOW.

That is pretty funny. Annoying, but funny.

I want to never have to acknowledge the existence of Joe Rogan ever again. It has less to do with me not liking him and more to do with how disgusting it is that he is a known liar and racist amongst other lovely things (which spotify absolutely admitted knowledge of by removing multiple episodes known to contain examples of him being his best). It is gross that Spotify wants to keep making money off this person, but if you want to be disgusting with your business, that is your right. Please give me the ability to block that liar, follow your own T&Cs, or I'll take my family's money elsewhere.

Also, you can't honestly tell me that your algorithm thinks I'd enjoy rogan more than Jon Stewart. If it does, then your dev team needs to go back to square 1. Something is very very wrong over there.

EdsListeningPost thank you, it worked. Big kudos to you.

@EdsListeningPost Thank you so much, your solution worked!  Which is really fortunate because I have to take the car back to get something adjusted, lol.   Hey Spotify, obviously the solution is pretty **bleep**ing easy, so how about implementing it officially so that no one else has to get weird looks from their mechanic?

The startpage of spotify is slowly becoming a worse version of the horrible youtube starting page.   Don't put to much trust in your AI.

It's getting to the point where I hesitate to listen to new music or podcasts, since I know that the AI-generated start page will punish me for months if my music exploring ends up with me listening to something I dont like, even for quite a short time.

I've been a spotify user for over ten years, but the constant GUI "refreshments" has got me thinking of moving to another platform.

Personal preference and responsiveness is important if you have paying customers.

I don't dispute your right to have creators that I personally find offensive but your algorithms are doing a **bleep** poor job if it doesn't have the option for me to opt out of having them pushed at me.

Joe Rogan and Jordon Peterson have the right to be on the platform, but I should have the right to tell you I don't want to see those dingleberries on my homepage.

I can understand if I was using the free version, but you are taking my money to have you offend me at every **bleep** opportunity. Not a good look.

Why the **bleep** is the first thing I see when I launch my MUSIC STREAMING APPLICATION a bunch of podcasts? I have never, ever, EVER wanted to listen to a podcast! Stop shoving James Bond and Chris Chan and Lovecraft in my face everytime I try to use Spotify! **bleep**ing **bleep**

I completely agree with this idea. Music and podcasts have absolutely nothing in common except that they use your ears. You don't need podcasts when you want to enjoy music, and vice versa.

I use Spotify to listen to music, not to listen to podcasts. I don't understand why Spotify keeps showing me podcasts I'm not interested in. This is the reason why I canceled my premium plan. As soon as this feature is implemented, I will re-subscribe.

As lots of other users I really hate the podcast suggestions on the home screen. I don't listen to that many podcasts and when I occasionally listen I don't use Spotify because I don't want the podcasts to mess up my music player. I do however listen to music for 20 000+ hours every year. Please, let me customize my Home Screen! I've been a premium subscriber from the beginning (2008?) and this is really bugging me.

It's not entirely about the unwanted podcast commercials either. I'm Swedish speaking in Finland (equal rights, Finland is bilingual by law) but my suggestions come from the Finnish record companies and the Finnish market, not from the Swedish which would suite me better - again, let me choose for myself.

The people at Spotify are not censoring Rogen because of some "freedom of misinformation" but couldn't care less about their customers freedom to choose. Apple Music anyone?
