[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

We understand where you're coming from and thank you for the clarification. As the idea is not to "customize start screen" we'd recommend adding your +Vote to this idea as it's more accurate with what you're asking for and fits with the requests in this thread.

We're always testing things by adding or removing features to make Spotify better overall. We’re sorry that this means you’re not able to use Spotify like you wish to do at the moment, but we hope to have this feature soon.

If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.

Stop recommending we vote on closed ideas. 
the total lack of listening to your customers is, quite frankly, unbelievable. 
I have 2 kids that I will not allow to have Spotify because of this madness. Therefore I will not be taking a family sub out. Therefore less money for Spotify. I wonder how many others feel the same way.

The home screen on the desktop is dominated by podcast "recommendations" (read: ads). When I go to listen to music, the first thing I see are these ads for stupid ultramacho content that I actually kind of despise (talking about Jordan Peterson and Joe Rogan).  At the very least, move them further down the page.

Today the Spotify frontpage suggested a Jordan Peterson podcast. They pay this cretin money to do a podcast, and then try to get me to listen to it. I'm canceling as soon as I decide on which competitor to subscribe to. Byeeee.

I too am looking at competitors. Tidal is my choice. Mainly because the
UI is not that much different, so navigation is not a step curve. The
sound quality is much better to. Note, I'm looking for a music
replacement not a podcast replacement as spotify just **bleep** for that. I
like to download, and have better control as to what plays next on my list.

Let me know if you do find anything other than Tidal

I too am looking for alternatives now.

So far I have tried Deezer. Same **bleep**, different name. They also recommend podcasts and there is no way to get rid of them. One difference (big one) is that when you open Deezer, you land at your "Music" screen, and not some BS-"home screen" with all sorts of crappy content. But if you happen to switch to the "podcasts"-tab, then you see recommendations on the top part of the screen and they are just as annoying as on Podify, ehmmm I mean Spotify, of course.

They also say Deezer has better music quality. I haven't noticed that, but perhaps my earphones aren't good enough. Or my ears.

Perhaps I should try Tidal too. I mean, come on, something better than Spotify MUST exist out there? It's not that they have set the bar too high or anything.

Today is my first day without Spotify and I don't miss anything. Especially not those crappy podcasts!

This is ridiculous.

How is this "not right now" when it is in the top 5 ideas? & others have posted similar ideas/aren't on "spotify community" so in reality this is much more popular than it seems. 

Edit: as far as alternatives (which I am also looking at currently): Youtube music is much better (though it is Google...) & you can watch VIDEOS with NO ADS (including interviews/live music). Qobuz seems decent. They offer a trial currently & it seems like they don't push podcasts, propaganda, disgusting content. Also, higher quality music.
