[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Community and showing your support to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Update from the 23rd of Feb 2023:

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

Thanks.

I just opened Spotify and saw a literal YOUTUBE VIDEO WITH COMMENTS, where NEW MUSIC should be on my homepage. I'm sorry, but if I wanted to see Austin Evans, I'd open YouTube. I don't want to open my app and be recommended an audio book and a tech unboxing where I'm looking for a new album. As more and more content types that nobody asked for have proliferated on this poor music platform, it's become clear that we desperately need better filters. Give me the option to hide audiobooks or videos at LEAST. I don't listen to them, I don't watch them, I don't want them recommended to me. I've had Spotify since 2015 for MUSIC. If you're going to make me pay for it, then you better give me all the control in the world so I can put up with it.

Can you give us a choice to pick a "simplified look"? One that is not bombarded with information overload on the main page. Can you place a radio button on the main screen so we can "focus" on just one artist or one type of music? I use my cell phone and feel like there's too much information squeezed in on the screen. Just an idea.

I do not wish to see recommendations for some racist **bleep** podcast ON MY WATCH WHILE I'M WORKING OUT despite the fact I've never listened to Joe Rogan or ever liked his podcast.

You advertising this**bleep** to me despite the fact I PAY FOR REMOVAL OF ADS is insane. Canceling my plan immediately.

Premium members should not have to dig around all these unwanted podcasts and *NEW ALBUM ADVERTS so do give us a way to opt out of all this unwanted junk, so we can find our playlists without first shoving this jungle out of the way!  Fair is fair, but wanting to keep your cake and keep it, IS NOT.

AFTER  FOUR YEARS AS PREMIUM MEMBER, I TRUST YOU'LL CONSIDER THIS REQUEST SERIOUSLY, for; SPOTIFY today is no longer what I subscribed to at the time!

I am frequently frustrated because my screen is plastered with podcasts and ads for new albums, which was not the case when I took up my premium membership. HENCE Spotify for me is no longer THE GOOD THING I SUBSCRIBED TO SEVERAL YEARS AGO!

as Spotify keeps making the home page more and more obnoxious (by adding more and more irrelevant (i.e. popular) recommendations) instead of addressing requests to give users more control, it's clear that they don't care about pissing of users for financial gain

Of course, they're down bad after spending way too much money for Joe
Rogans dumb garbage **bleep**.

Every now and then, when logging on to my paid Spotify account on my phone, I get unnecessary recommendations from artists I know would never listen to. I suspect they are upcoming or famous artists that have paid to be recommended on the frontpage.

This really inappropriate since it really just appears as advertisement on my paid subscription!

I would like you to stop this immediately. If you really want to take a third of my screen with some "recommendation", then at least make it a relevant one to peoples tastes.

Thank you

My homescreen is getting filled with stuff i don't want. Please let me mark it as not interested / remove it from the screen.

I think this feature is long overdue. Spotify, please add this. There is so much community feedback, it seems like you are ignoring us.
