[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Community and showing your support to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Update from the 23rd of Feb 2023:

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

Thanks.

Just an update: Ironically a few hours after I made this post it completly vanished from my Spotify.

I think this feature is long overdue. Spotify, please add this. There is so much community feedback, it seems like you are ignoring us.

The way podcasts have been handled lately is deeply user-unfriendly, and has made me significantly less interested in using Spotify to listen to podcasts. The biggest factor in this is the lack of user control. I'd like to see:
1. An option to remove 'suggested' sections from the homepage, such as "Popular with Listeners of [x]", "You Might Like", "More Like", etc, or an option to change which section you see first (or just put "New Episodes" first). There are times when "New Episodes" doesn't appear on my page at all.
2. An option to "block" certain shows or topics from being recommended.
3. Better filtering of the suggestions that are there. For example, the suggestions related to the Lions Led By Donkeys series about the Rwandan Genocide are unrelated comedy podcasts (attached image). These are shows I'd have no interest in regardless, but given the heavy subject matter of the episode that the suggestions are based on, I think it's especially in poor taste.

We should be able to customize the home screen by removing certain categories from it to make it more unique to how you use it. ie if you don't listen to podcasts or audiobooks on Spotify you can remove them from the your home screen

At times the New Release suggestions can be totally out of left field, not pertainable, and NSFW and it would be helpful to be able to opt out of it, especially since the New Release suggestions are right on the homepage when opening the app.

This post has been here for four years, just how much longer?

Hi. For a long time I was thinking about this idea and why it is still not a thing on Spotify.

I want to be able to perzonalize my Home page, where at the top you can see some songs and Playlists/artists you've listened once or twice recently. I want to be able to remove them, because I don't want them to be there first thing I open the app. The same as the Podcasts. I listened to this one podcast just once for about 5 minutes and I can't seem to remove it from the Podcasts section. Or even a 'block' option for certain artists would he useful.

Here to continue the endless yelling at the wall that is Spotify like the hundreds of others - If I can't outright remove/block/hide/unlist podcasts I do not want to see and will never listen to, perhaps Spotify should stop platforming and pushing podcasts from fascists and s*x pests? I am two steps away from canceling my subscription of 10 years.

What's the point of paying for Spotify premium (ad free? Yeah right) when I get ads on my Home screen. I don't use Spotify for

podcasts, so stop recommending them. I hate Apple Music and was glad to switch but now I'm regretting it.

Agreed. It is insane that we pay for an ad free experience but I keep
getting the Joe Brogan podcast shilled to me. I get they're realizing
paying him was a terrible investment, and that they're trying to make that
money back, but that doesn't mean I want to have to swipe past that jerkoff
on my watch when I'm looking for music... Unbelievable.
