[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Community and showing your support to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Update from the 23rd of Feb 2023:

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

Thanks.

How is this possibly marked as not now with almost 15k votes? You guys simply do not care about your clients. Absolutely pathetic company, I would be embarrassed to work for you guys.

Spotify can continue to annoy their customers unless someone provides a better alternative. Currently, they're the one that sucks less, so here we go.

Adding a central page to “Your Librarythat only reflects playlists you have added, and ordered (with all your pretty playlist images reflecting your selection of curated moods) ; the ability to pin and order playlists as desired.

A ‘Home’ Page, where one can land and only see the curation of playlists without the mess of every album you listened to for five minutes.

The pin feature currently is helpful, but limited. And in the sea of “Your Library”, limiting to only 4 pins is necessary to highlight favourites.

However,

It’s really only 3 pins, as the point of access to our catalog “Liked Songs” (of which quick access is essential to use Spotify service) takes one.

The untamed mess of Your Library is important, but if a central page could be wrangled into existence where you’re able to have a neat and tidy list of your playlists, beyond the 3 you desperately need access to the most, Spotify would feel much more useful.

Thanks very much to those who read!

It’s really frustrating how they never explain why they can’t give us more control over the home screen. Instead of addressing the core issue, they keep dodging it with vague responses. It’s probably tied to advertising and partnerships—they want to keep pushing certain content to us because it benefits them. Giving users the option to fully customize their experience might cut into their ad revenue, which is likely why they’re hesitant to implement it. Feels like they’re putting profit over user experience on must suggestions.

I share your observations 100%: They (SPOTIFy) have apparently gone
mercenary, like some 85% of the WEB....After 5 years of premium membership
am now seriously thinking of sacrificing all my playlists AND GIVE SPOTIFY
THE LAST GOODBYE. YES: that's the measure of my disgust; exactly the same
as happened with Apple a few years ago. CUSTOMERS' SATISFACTION HAS BECOME
A DIRTY WORD IT APPEARS - greed and egocentrism reign...

yes, I'm afraid greed has made them fully mercenery. Pity: this used to be
a good thing...

I couldn't agree more. Am so annoyed about all that unwanted and unwarranted junk that I seriously think of sacrificing all my playlists and give Spotify the sack "after 10years of paid premium membership! What happened to customer satisfaction?

Looking for the same solution as others here and I see this moderator comment from 2021, so apparently nothing has been done to address the issue and give subscribers even a little bit of control - not just the home screen(s) but also the choice of podcasts that automatically play next. I assume the auto-plays of podcasts (or any medi) get counted as plays and the algorithm then assumes I like them and so continues to place them on my Home Screen and auto-play them, thus perpetuating the problem. Also would be a convenient way for Spotify to juice and skew listening numbers for specific programs and artists, no?

For me, my focus is on the customization of the top 8 on the home page. While making it fully customizable what content appears here would be great, at minimum I'd like to be able to remove content from the top 8 suggested on the Home Page, which is based on your recently listened to. Example, I listened to about 2 minutes of a podcast that I don't typically listen to, but now I have to see it at the top of my suggested, and I really want it removed from there. It isn't recommending just that one episode but rather the podcast show as a whole. If I could remove that one suggestion, and it be replaced by my next most recent, that'd be sufficient.

This new ‘feature’ is highly distracting and in your face. I don’t want to see moving reels in my home page advertising podcasts. I can’t even immediately see recently played albums anymore. This is just another example of Spotify trying to jam content down your throat. At least allow the home page to be customisable.
