Playback issues related to the next song in the queue

We received reports that upon attempting to play a song that's been added to the queue manually (via the Add to queue option), the playback stops completely and the play buttons on the Now Playing View become greyed out, thus preventing advancing to the next track.

Hey there, folks,

 

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

 

We're happy to announce that the queue playback should now be functioning properly for everyone running app version 9.0.8 (iOS and Android) and 1.2.53.440 (desktop). If you don't see the update on your end just yet, rest assured it's coming your way in the next couple of days.

 

To ensure you're running the latest version of Spotify available, it's worth performing a clean reinstall of the app.

 

If you're still having trouble with playback or anything else, you can post a new thread in the relevant Help board here.

Freezing after every song or ad. Have to select different playlist to hear any song each time. 
free version. I believe it is the Newest update/version.

My Question or Issue

Whenever I’m listening to a playlist and I decide to add a song to queue, it’s doesn’t play and it causes the playlist I’m listening to just stop playing completely. (same as other users here)
Issue is still occurring after uninstalling and then reinstalling.

My Question or Issue

When I add a song to the queue while playing a playlist, the player does not move on to the next song in the queue and clicking the next song button would make the player blank.

I'm sorry to hear you're still having trouble with Spotify stopping after one song. Here are a few additional steps you can try:

  1. Turn Off Low Power Mode: Go to Settings > Battery and turn off Low Power Mode on your iPhone.

  2. Allow Spotify to Run in Background: Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and make sure Spotify is allowed to refresh in the background.

  3. Check Autoplay: Go to Spotify settings and ensure Autoplay is turned on.

  4. Redownload Music: If you have offline music, try redownloading it.

  5. Stable Internet Connection: Ensure you have a stable internet connection

Question or Issue

Hello,

since this Christmas, Spotify on Android plays only one song from each playlist; advertisement before/after the song is optional. After the song, Spotify freezes. I can't manually move to ne next song: I must get out form the current playlist, select another, and then only one song is played, and so forth. This does not happen on PC: playlists are played normally.

What is the problem?

My Question or Issue

The app will only play one song, the one I selected manually. If I put something in the queue, after the songs finishes, it says that is playing the next song in the queue but it is not and when I press the Next button everything is greyed out. If I put on a playlist it will only play one song from it. Also, when I opened Spotify, the Queue was cleaned out. I had songs there on both devices. 

 

It happened on both devices I use Spotify on.

I even tried disable hardware acceleration and it still didn't work it.

And the irony is that the ads plays normally, but the next song on queue don't. You must think we're all idiots, right?

THE QUEUE ONLY WORKS NORMALLY IN THE WEB VERSION. So I guess the desktop app will be useless until a proper update.

When are you going to fix this, for God's sake?! When all your employees come back from holidays next year?

For the last 3 days, Spotify on my PC has stopped playing the songs I put into the queue. It has no problem playing songs regularly but just won't play what I put into the queue. I've tried putting different songs into the queue in case it's the song that's the problem but nothing has changed.
