Playback issues related to the next song in the queue

We received reports that upon attempting to play a song that's been added to the queue manually (via the Add to queue option), the playback stops completely and the play buttons on the Now Playing View become greyed out, thus preventing advancing to the next track.

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue.

 

We're happy to announce that the queue playback should now be functioning properly for everyone running app version 9.0.8 (iOS and Android) and 1.2.53.440 (desktop). If you don't see the update on your end just yet, rest assured it's coming your way in the next couple of days.

 

To ensure you're running the latest version of Spotify available, it's worth performing a clean reinstall of the app.

 

If you're still having trouble with playback or anything else, you can post a new thread in the relevant Help board here.

I click a song or Playlist and I can play one or two songs all the way through but when it's over it stops at the end of the song and will not play another. This is happening on both my iPad and Android phone. I've tried redownloading the app, using a vpn, clearing the cache, and changing it so that it has crossfade or no crossfade and the problem still persists. Strongly, I was just on vacation and while there i didn't have this problem. I had a different sim card while there but I don't see why that would change anything. But I'm home now and the problem is back.

my spotifiy has been bugging cant listen to music and i have all my music on there, I click next and it stops playing already re-downloaded cleared cashe did it all but its still messed up please help

On my other devices queue always works. On my iPad it never works what should I do. I’ve already deleted and reinstalled. And cleared the cache and all the downloads

Same problem here

Spotify pauses after every song and doesn’t go to the next one. Skipping doesn’t help either.

Same issue.  Tried all the suggested solutions. Lucky if I get one song to play from any of my playlists.  Can’t get anything to play from my “Liked Songs”. Started around 12/20/2024 & has gotten progressively worse. 

Spotify stops playing songs when i manually put them into the play queue. The Interface where the song infos should be is also blank then.

So just thought I'd flag something.  Its the music bit of your app thing. It seems to have stopped working.  Like playing the next song automatically like my compact disc player does. but its no biggy.   I just stop the car or what I'm doing and click next track (about 2 or 3 times) then its ok. Everything else I'm happy to report works just fine like the adverts which play automatically (perfect) so well sometimes I get the same ad back to back just in case I forgot it first time around 20 seconds ago. and when the music gets too musical I appreciate that it gets thankfully interrupted before the end or better still,  mid way through it. and the ad refreshes my memory.  Its free and thats awesome and bonus I've thought abought joining the British army today it looks brilliant on the advertisement.

My Question or Issue

Android app only plays one song and then it stops playback.  I've tried all the usual clear cache, uninstall/reinstall, update app, update phone system etc.  once the first song plays, the next comes up but doesn't play, just appears as 0:00.  The app doesn't freeze but it won't play any other songs/playlists.  Very frustrating as I use Spotify every day while running and I don't have this issue with any other music media apps.
