Playback stops after playing few songs on Echo devices

We've received multiple reports where repeat stops working & playback pauses after a few songs on Amazon Echo devices.

Hey there folks,

We've checked with our teams and this should now be fixed for everyone 🙂

Make sure that your Echo device is up-to-update, should you still experience issues. You can do this by asking Alexa for an update with the voice command - "Alexa, check for updates".

If the above doesn't do the trick, and the issue persists, we recommend that you create a new thread on our Help Board, so we can look into it further.

Cheers!

More proof Amazon is the issue. This is an issue manufactured by Amazon.

@omalleyoop no, i can easily reproduce it on any other devices under "devices nearby" option in spotify not just the amazon alexas. Also, if the echo device connected via bluetooth the issue not occurring again,so it's purely spotify issue

Maybe get off you forced me to bet my own money I would put my money and
give odds it's an Amazon op to sour subscribers to Spotify so they consider
Amazon music. I'm no slobbering fan of Spotify as they have plenty of
issues I don't like (clunky interface, no AI, limited play/que options,
suggestions, etc). But this would be as smart as Russia blowing up their
own pipeline or how Apple degrades all video sent from an iPhone to an
android phone so people will think the problem is their Android phone.
Seems like the bigger the company the more devious they are.
But I digress.

@omalleyoop I'm not saying amazon is innocent (like they force amazon music even spotify is the default) but the issue occurs without the amazon skill enabled as well. So, 50:50% chances:)

My own experience over the last 24 hours is that the issue seems to have been fixed if the Echo device is updated to the latest device software version.

I was able to force a software update by saying to each device: “Alexa, check for software updates”. Unfortunately a couple of my devices have refused to update, so I hope this is because there is some kind of rollout.

It would be very helpful if Spotify could give us some clear information and guidance rather than simply saying the issue is fixed. As others have said, the issue is only fixed when users agree.

@cades1Agree, I have 7 Echo devices different gen etc.  Only 4 did device update and others had none??
So problem not solved!!

I keep trying to post the version number of the updated software but these posts are not appearing. Perhaps the moderator could post the Echo device version so people can check?
