Playback stops after playing few songs on Echo devices

We've received multiple reports where repeat stops working & playback pauses after a few songs on Amazon Echo devices.

Hey there folks,

We've checked with our teams and this should now be fixed for everyone 🙂

Make sure that your Echo device is up-to-update, should you still experience issues. You can do this by asking Alexa for an update with the voice command - "Alexa, check for updates".

If the above doesn't do the trick, and the issue persists, we recommend that you create a new thread on our Help Board, so we can look into it further.

Cheers!

Hello. This happened to me and I did exactly the same things you did and it didn’t work.

Then one day I just asked my Alexa speaker to update its software settings and Alexa did. This fixed everything. Before that I kept trying to fix it all on my phone through the app.

Fingers crossed that this works.

Hi. This issue keeps happening to me since many months ago, since May!!! I tried all the fixes mentioned in this post and nothing works. I am in the last update on all my Alexa’s. Spotify does work in all my Alexa’s except in my Two Alexa Echo Studios paired as Home Theater. This issue has been going on for so so long it is unacceptable! I am really thinking about unsubscribing from Spotify premium and go to Apple Music and buy Apple Home pods. I have tried factory resetting all my echos, uninstalling Spotify extension in Alexa and login again, restart my router, ask all the Alexa’s to update, disable tap feature in all Alexa devices… NOTHING WORKS!!! Don’t you there mark this as resolved when it is not!

this is definetly not fixed -   Does anyone know how to sort this out.   Only seems to fail on a speaker group.   If selecting a single devide its ok

In my case, Spotify has stopped working in Echo device completely. I tried all the steps (even un-link and link again to the device and account) and still it doesn't work.

I don't have an Echo, but I am using another smart speaker. Don't know where else to post this, and it's the same old problems with the playback suddenly stopping and you have to manually move the track bar forward to continue... until the James Blunt ad popped up on my PC and the playback stopped completely.

This issue has resumed for me as of the last few days.

We ended up just switching to use a Sonos speaker after the issues kept coming back with Spotify through Alexa. We've been using Spotify through Sonos for a couple months now and have no issues like we with Alexa. Clearly there's an issue with the Spotify->Alexa API where every time there's an update, the connection breaks. (By the way, you can control a Sonos speaker with Alexa.. so it still pretty seemless.. the only change is that the music is Streaming through Sonos, which is much more stable)

THIS IS NOT FIXED, SPOTIFY. Your POS service is ALWAYS broken. You focus on squeezing customers for every penny instead of providing a viable service. This is why your never profitable. I work in tech, and Alexa/Echo devices are all up to date, tried every avenue for fixing, and ultimately this lies within Spotify's garbage programming and lack of work with Amazon.

Have been having this problem since early December on my Echo.  Have tried unlinking and relinking, restarting, disabling Tap Gestures, removing bandwidth throttling in Spotify, etc.  Issue persists.  Please fix.

Hello, I've had this problem for months.  It is annoying.

I have done ALL of the steps listed.  The issue continues to return.

Why is it stopping?  Have we determined what makes it STOP?

It's very annoying that I am paying for a service that doesn't deliver.  I am an Amazon Echo user with multiple rooms, multiple echoes, and Alexa in the car.  I am logged out of all, changed passwords, uninstalled alexa/spotify on my phone, rebooted router, reset echoes.

PLEASE FIX! @Maria you are our only hope.
