I've already voted for the idea to allow a disable toggle for podcasts so I stop getting them inserted into recommended playlists, but how do I block a specific podcast?
The home screen of the Mac Desktop app has become a continuous advertisement for the Joe Rogan podcast, which I do not want to see nor want any chance to accidentally click on. How do I get this trash off of my home page? I'm already not thrilled with some of the podcast hosts Spotify advertises and seriously considering cancelling my subscription entirely, and forcing me to look at this stuff every time I open the app is just abother reason to get away from the whole platform.
You don't shove a whole row of music I don't like at the top of my home screen, why am I seeing a whole row dedicated to Rogan before any of my own actual preferred content?
Hey folks,
Thanks for posting on the Community about this.
For now it's not possible to block certain podcast shows, however, we recommend having a look at this Live Idea suggesting the implementation of an option allowing users to perform this action within the Spotify app.
You can support the idea by adding your +VOTE and clicking on Subscribe in the three-dots menu at the top right corner next to the title. That'll make sure you stay up-to-date with any relevant updates about this. It’s also worth knowing that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for the idea to be implemented.
We always take new ideas and feedback into consideration to improve the app. Here you can read more on how ideas work.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any questions.
Hey everyone,
Thanks for sharing your feedback with the Community.
We value your feedback and will take it into consideration when moving forward. In the meantime, there are a couple more ideas besides the one @Ivan posted above, that you can add your support to:
If this is also something you'd like to see, make sure to +VOTE and subscribe to the ideas. The Idea Exchange is a great way for us to see what our users are interested in and how many people like a certain idea. You can read more about it here.
Hope this info is useful. We'll be here if you have any other questions.
Now I need to block **bleep** here.
Yeah, reality ans facts really suck.
Says the person that gets "facts" from Rogan. What a joke.
If you actually informed yourself, he has experts on fields as guests on the show, and that's where the information comes from. As opposed to you parroting politicians "expert" opinions on fields they have no clue about. Kudos, for spreading misinformation.
What am I parroting again? I just don't want this shitheal's podcast forced on me. Please, go bother someone else.
If inhave to have the left wing NPR and CNN propaganda and the rest of that BS pushed on me, you can deal with this.
L M A O . Everybody clap for fanboy here.
Go sell your conspiracy pseudoscience somewhere else.
samesamesamesame.i cant standthis insufferableguy.
So many kind and thoughtful co-users already discussing it with this serious problem. And I am grateful for that. But I have to be frank, if I keep getting force-fed the Joe Rogan experience podcast. I’m going to find a way to destroy this entire company. Stop doing this immediately or there will be consequences.
Ha! GOOD ONE! Everybody, get in the edge of your **bleep**-covered gaming chair for this geniuses podcast debut! Featuring him; Jordan Peterson ideas, and his misogynistic virgin fat-boy idio-trope!
Again, real zingers coming from the guy supporting being slop-bucket shoveled kooky podcast content. You’re interestingly less clever than a bot-account.
How do i get rid of him. I hate him and everything he stands for and why is he on MY HOME PAGE GET HIM OFF I just want MUSIC. no not Rob Beckett or Josh Widdecombe. YOU KNOW of whom I speak
It's 2023 and I have the same f*ing Podcast suggestion on my app. Spotify doesn't care about their customers.
I'm in the same boat. I have no interest in this podcast and it's a whole entire ROW of my home page. I have to scroll to see things related to my actual interests and follows. I know, Spotify, you paid a lot of money to keep this conspiracy enabler on your platform, but I don't care. He's a clown and the ridiculous fanboys like missionsparta are an embarrassment. This whole topic is about being able to not have this show FORCED on our home page, but the clowns in the comments are eager to act like everyone is asking for JR to be removed or blocked or whatever. We just don't want to have his stupid show on our dashboard against our wishes. You aren't protecting "free speech", he's not "in the middle" (giving equal weight and time to truth and lies is not neutrality), nobody cares about your fan club. We don't want to see it.
A whole entire row of programming I have no interest in placed ABOVE shows I've actively subscribed to and listened to and cannot be removed. Whoever came up with this idea should be far away from any decisions for the rest of their life.
This doesn't help as this trash is back in my face! Joe Rogan is an awful human who spews misinformation. Why is Spotify supporting this?!
I want to block this trash @spotify
It took me about 4 seconds to shoot your post down missionsparta:
https://www.bbc.com/news/60199614
That's the first result if you search for "joe rogan misinformation".
For your next trick you'll claim BBC is "left media" and I'll laugh at you again.
Remove Joe Rogan and allow posts asking for the customer’s right to remove content like his from our homepages. He doesn’t fit my listening history and I don’t appreciate Spotify forcing me to scroll by his vocal diarrhea. I quit Spotify for a year over your retention of him, and now that I’m back, this??? Total trash.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
