My Question or Issue
I added a new playlist about 2 weeks ago and had about 50 songs on it, of which many were new and others I took out of my regular "Liked Songs" playlist in order to separate genres a little bit and now it is just gone. The chance I swiped and deleted it while the phone was unlocked and in my hand is slim to none. It was there 2 days ago. I now go to add songs or search the name, scroll through my library, and it is like it never existed. There is nothing under deleted playlists. Stuff like this used to happen all the time, but then Spotify finally made it more user friendly by adding common sense safeguards and it stopped being a problem so I am surprised this is happening right now. I have been a premium member since 2012. This is super annoying.
I am having a similar issue. I create a playlist but then when I try to find it again in my Library, it is as if it never existed at all. I also have an issue with saving other playlists - when I click on the plus sign it changes to the usual check mark but then seconds later it reverts back to the plus sign and is not in my Library. This is happening across iOS, Android, Windows desktop, and Web apps.
Hey folks!
Sorry to see you've been having issues with your playlists.
What I'd first recommend is clearing the app's cached data on all affected devices and logging out of the app and back in twice in a row, which will trigger a manual sync of all your settings and data. If this doesn't make a difference, you can try going for a complete clean reinstall of the app instead 🙂 Make sure you're not using any VPN services.
If the issue remains, can you check if you have any playlists looking this way?
If you can locate any which are in this state, then you're most likely experiencing the iOS issue we have under investigation here.
Keep us posted! We'll be on the lookout for your replies 🙌🏼
@amilam1 @andrewxnguyen
I cleared the cache from all my devices (Android tablet, Android phone, iPhone, iPad, Desktop app) and logged out (all those devices, plus the Web app). I logged back in twice in a row on my iPhone and it still continues to not let me add playlists to my library.
I am also not getting the above issue of blank playlists. All of my playlists in my library that I tap into all populate with the songs in it still.
Hey @andrewxnguyen,
Thanks for your reply.
Do you by any chance have a lot of playlists saved in Your Library? Although there's no official limit, you might run into such issues at a certain point. If that's the case, we'd recommend removing/consolidating some and checking again if the behavior persists.
Keep us posted.
Removing playlists from my library did indeed work. I think Spotify should either detail what the library limit is roughly since it's not unlimited (similar to the song limit in a playlist) or work on allowing unlimited library playlists.
Thanks for your help, though, on at least helping find a solution to my issue.
