Hello!
I am from UAE and I am currently having difficulty in logging my spotify account on the website using my phone number. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to put an alternative email for that account.
I have tried it a number of times already and I'm pretty sure that my number is correct as I have no problems in accessing the app with it.
The site kept on sending this message:

If you have registered only a phone number on your account and can’t log in to it, we suggest that you reach out directly to our Support team through any of these channels so they can further assist you with this.
However, if you have registered an email address as well, you should be able to log in to your account using that email and password. If you don't remember your password, you can reset it here.

I am also going through the same kind of problem, just a little difference in my situation. The thing is I made my 1st account on Spotify 2-3 years back, but at that time I never entered any email address. I made my account with a phone number only. Now, just a few days back, I logged out by mistake and now I am not able to log in. The option of logging in with a phone number is visible for me but it is again and again showing check your phone number. There is no message from Spotify and my phone number is the same. I did make another account with an email id this time. But I lost my followers, playlist, and liked songs. Could u please look into the matter? It would be kind of you.

I made payment for 12 months premium using the option continue with phone number . But after making the payment,I am not able to login to Spotify account using the same phone number .. I tried multiple times .. It is throwing an error as check your phone number..

Do you spotify guys really don't get it ? We don't have an email or facebook associated with our account. Just have the phone number which is not working. Also, your help section is trash and wants us to login which we clearly are not able to. Why don't you guys just report this as a major issue to your team and fix it as soon as possible. All my precious playlists are gone.

Scroll down and click on Contact us. Explain them your Number Login Issue and tell them you are a listener. They will ask your Maill I'd to be mapped against the number and done. Happy Listening 🎧
