My Question or Issue

OK. Here it comes and I'm sure this must have been asked before but...

 

I have been gifted a Premium Individual 12 Month Subscription of Spotify, via a Google Play Subscription, and I'm trying to change the country in Spotify to the one where I live, rather than the one where the plan was purchased.

 

I have changed ownership to the email address to my home address, phone number  etc., but no matter what I try, I cannot change the country for the plan to where I live.

 

It says in order to change country you need to add payment method from that country. But when I do this, I enter my card information which is verified and approved by my bank (for £0.02), but after that, I get an error message stating the payment method doesn't match my county. So I go to change my country and it's still greyed out/disabled and says I need to add a new payment method etc. And so we start again. My bank actually declined transactions at one point thinking I was a fraudster.

 

So, could someone please tell me, how I actually change my country?

 

Please note: I have access to the original email address as that can't be changed (on Google Play). I have simply added my own email address as the primary contact and additional email address for the same account.
