[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Hey folks,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback on the Community and showing your support to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Update from the 23rd of Feb 2023:

A new feature was recently introduced in the mobile app which you may find interesting as it allows users to remove content recommendations from the subfeeds (Music and Podcasts & Shows) of their Home screen, thus expanding upon the current customization options and offering a improved, more personalized experience. You can find more info about it in the Status update here.

Thanks.

As a paying customer, I am the client, not the product. (Unlike at facebook or Twitter or other "free" services.) So I should not have to see ads for podcasts I don't care about. Based on my listening history, Spotify knows there is zero chance I want to see three different Beyonce podcasts on my home screen every time I open Spotify. Yet that was what Spotify served me for weeks. This week there are new  podcasts I don't care about. I would like to remove all podcast suggestions from my home screen but cannot. This is a frustrating bug and by ignoring it with a blasé "Not right now" Spotify is showing it doesn't care about user satisfaction. Spotify should address the thousands of complaints on this topic by fixing it.

Ban liberals, conservatives & sjws please! AND especially Ben Shapiro/Jordan Peterson! I don't pay you to see these fools! This **bleep** is showing up on my page to much!

I am so sick of seeing ads for podscasts I have no interest in. I don't listen to podcasts on spotify, so it has no way of customising them to my tastes. Why can't I just remove them, or hide that section?

I don’t like the horoscope. I don’t even believe it. Spotify doesnt even give the user the option to hide/unhide it. Please remove it!!

Premium user here, super annoyed about fckng podcasts and other irrevelant stuff on my home screen! In the other hand, they hid my favourite function, which was discovery. Its clear spotify gives a sht about their users' opinion and wishes.

I pay specifically to avoid this. It's clear Apple and others are kicking your ass otherwise you wouldn't have to try so hard to advertise to PAYING customers who specifically try to avoid this kind of behavior.  I guess it's time to switch.  After all, it could only be better or at least the same.  It couldn't possibly be worse.  Thanks for the years, but you've clearly lost your way.

Bumping again because my recommendations are turning communist. This is seriously offensive.

If only Apple music actually worked on Android. You would have already lost me as a customer.

I too get recommendations of music and podcasts that I actively dislike. Can I at least get a "not interested" button so even if I keep getting poor recommendations I can play whack-a-mole with bad popular music blm and LGBT propaganda and feel a little better about the whole thing.

Excellent point. At least let us validate or invalidate the podcasts feed (the way we do our music feeds) so we don't get  irrelevant content shoveled like steaming, uh, garbage onto the home screen all the time. This can't be a hard thing to implement -- you already have the code.

And yes, we know Spotify spent an insane amount of money to lock up star podcasts and now has to try to make that investment pay off by turning music fans into podcast consumers, but hey! We're the clients. Don't treat us like afterthoughts or we'll flee to friendlier services. Nifty car thing notwithstanding.

I just found this thread because, as a premium customer, this is the *FIRST* content I see under my recent 6 playlist icons.

I logged in today and found that a bunch of **bleep** podcasts were at the top of my homepage, with NO option to move or remove. I understand that Spotify is a left-leaning organization, and I understand that there is a time and place for this content. However, I should be able to customize what I see and subscribe to at the top of my own homepage. I am beyond irritated, and considering moving my family plan to another streaming service to avoid this behavior on Spotify.

This content is NSFW in my current environment, and there is no way for me to flag it, move it, or remove it.

**Edit after posting: it's funny that the comment bleeps out the word s.e.x. but they feel it appropriate to show this content front and center of my own Spotify home page. Hypocrites.
