[All Platforms] Customize Start Screen

This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

Personally, I was OK with the somewhat-random homepage before it included podcasts.

I listened to one podcast that was shared to me and now it is the first thing I see when I open the app. The thumbnails are often offensive and annoying.

Way to go. "Hacking" your desktop application to remove two parameters solved the issue. I can bet the next update will break it again, but for now I'm satisfied.

I am so frustrated with the "curation" of the home page - it is SO cluttered and useless. I literally have to go to the search to find things I recently and repeatedly play over and over again because they're the only items that never appear on the home page. 

Now with the shift of some podcasts exclusively to Spotify, I'm also stuck using this terrible interface to listen. It added another layer of clutter to my home screen.

I only listened to a friend's playlist that she shared with me once, and didn't care for it, now I can't get rid of it.  Please allow us to remove what's on the Home Screen.

I understand why the company would want to stuff ads in our faces (because all companies do), but really, we're paying customers.  You've already gotten our money.  Stop being greedy and please create and interface that we as paying customers want, rather than what your VC backers want.

Seriously Spotify what in the **bleep** is this, its like your team dosen't give a damn about thousands of user with the same shared problem. This has been ongoing for three years now and after seeing this vulgar thing on my account (after countless other inappropriate podcasts might i add),considering that i don't even listen to podcasts, its shameful that the IT hasn't AT LEAST introduced a "toggle off" for podcast recommendations or recommendations as a whole. I understand that Spotify shouldn't have to change the app just to suit a fraction of users, but as paying users we should at least be given a choice as to how we's like to use our personalised accounts rather than having our home page bombarded with recommendations that have nothing whatsoever to do with our tastes. Please fix this issue.

The "Show you might like" keep displaying content that is against my personal preferences and cultural belief. It is ruining my mood every day I turn on my Spotify no matter on my phone or Macbook. I paid for the subscription is to get better service and no ads, but this is not the result I hope to see for the money I paid for.
