This is not a new idea, but I haven't found any practical reply to it, so I think it needs to be repeated. I completely agree with Rennestein (screen capture below), we need to stop seeing irrelevant suggestions because it is annoying. Why can't it be possible to decide what we first see when we open Spotify on any device? (playlists, recently played, artists we're following, etc), and enjoy better our Spotify experience?
Please Spotify, let us have the home screen as we'd like. :)) Thank you!

You have over 10,000 votes for this but it's a "not right now"?  Are you technically incapable or just don't care what your users want?  This feature, along with the inability to remove podcasts that a user has listened to for a minute or two is going to drive people away from your service.

Currently having this problem… I came for solutions but i see people who have had this problem for years. Is it not possible to add a feature to block or even remove a podcast? I have a podcast appearing to me with inappropriate content that I DO NOT want. I have tried multiple times to remove, block or hide it but nothing works. It has been well over a year that this post was updated (that I can see) 

Please do fix this problem ASAP. It is unreasonably inconvenient and unnecessary problem.

If it wasn't for duo premium, I would of moved to a competitor over this. If any competitor matches duo's price I'll replace Spotify on the spot over this issue.

I am so tired of seeing the same album, and a podcast I listened to for a few minutes months ago, be the only two items listed under "Good Afternoon." I don't care about listening to podcasts on Spotify, yet its always advertised at the top of the home screen. Why can I not remove these "topic" groupings? Why can't I "ignore" certain albums or shows, so they stop appearing? The fact that none of this is customizable is in fact infuriating, more so by the fact that I am reminded of this lack of basic functionality that is at best ignored by you (Spotify) or and at worst overlooked by the incompetence of your bad UI/UX design leads. Get over yourself. 100 pages of comments and 10,000 votes, and you still are complacent in your ignorance. If you can't improve the usability of the product, the amount of content is meaningless. Going to start looking at Tidal.

Playlists I've deleted still showing up on my home screen can I delete them from the home screen ?

2 years later and over 10K votes.. still no activity.  They're just like all the others (dropbox, google, etc) who refuse to listen to their customer's ideas to make a better product.   I'll probably move to another platform after my free period is over.

I also love how it's still listed under "Live Ideas".    This recommendation was dead on arrival years ago thanks to the developers.  PROVE US WRONG.

You should do that ! I have explicit content on my homescreen, impossible to remove it (and yes, the option is disable in my parameters...). The title of the podcast is very very explicit !! Totally innaceptable !

Hello from the other side! Happy Apple Music subscriber here with a PSA: Apple Music app is coming to Windows this Fall. One more reason to ditch Spotify.

Spotify will never, ever allow you to customize your home screen. Give up already.

I don’t use podcasts yet they’re forced upon me via the main tab of Spotify. Customisation that would enable removal of them would be ideal.
