Playback stops after playing few songs on Echo devices

We've received multiple reports where repeat stops working & playback pauses after a few songs on Amazon Echo devices.

Hey there folks,

We've checked with our teams and this should now be fixed for everyone 🙂

Make sure that your Echo device is up-to-update, should you still experience issues. You can do this by asking Alexa for an update with the voice command - "Alexa, check for updates".

If the above doesn't do the trick, and the issue persists, we recommend that you create a new thread on our Help Board, so we can look into it further.

Cheers!

Yes my Spotify player keeps pausing and I have followed the suggestions of signing out of everything, changing the password, clearing the cache, restarting the device, re-installing the app and I also have checked my wifi which is 1GB donwload speed and working perfectly. There's nobody else using the app other than my phone. I've also check the auto-play settings in the app which all look good to me. I'm using a MacBook Pro with macOS Monterey on the latest update. I am also using it on an Amazon Echo dot device.

This is starting to get super annoying, 14 days and counting. How can I be inspired to cook yet another family meal when all I do is argue with my Alexa for stop ignoring me and keep playing Spotify. Plus yes I have tried all the suggestions. Spotify works fine else where. It's just with the Alexa when it goes pear shaped.

I'm having the same problem. It's more than mildly irritating.

Hi... I literally have the same exact problem with my echo dot and I've tried everything. It only happens on my echo. It works perfectly fine on my regular Bluetooth speaker. I'm about to throw out my echo dot speaker and just stick to my regular Bluetooth speaker.

Just to add that I've been having the same issue (the more the merrier, right?).

It's very frustrating, particularly when playing a bedtime song* for my little one, which promptly stops after the first play despite being on voice-activated 'loop mode' (or 'repeat 1' from the app; same result)...

Very much hope this will be resolved soon, so I don't need to find another service.

Thank you.

That does not work for me. Using the Alexia voice commands or using the Spotify App still stops playing the playlist.

Spotify had an update today which I downloaded and the problem still appears. I may disconnect and try again. I wish the updates would say what their updating this is taking too long!

I previously mentioned I had this problem for Spotify with my Echo Dot for several weeks now.  Today, I enabled my daily routine as usual to play an 11-hour Spotify playlist and it kept on playing for over 8 hours and still going. I did set a sleep timer for 10 hours (previously mentioned it would help keep playing overnight) so I don't know if it's this "sleep" timer that helped or Spotify actually did something without it.

This may be wishful thinking because I did pay for a year-round subscription, but I'm hoping that the Spotify crew is actively working on it along with Amazon, and hoping they both made some corrections on their platform to play nicer with one another. I do not know if it's fixed (or temporarily patched), and this would look like worldwide roll-out update so it could take weeks for everything around the world to get it.

I'm facing the same issue. I did reset Echo, router and modem but no luck. On Spotify app and Apple CarPlay are fine.

When Echo stops playing, it seems that the music is still playing on Spotify. (Playing device is selected Echo, and the progress bar is moving)
