Block Joe Rogan Podcast

I've already voted for the idea to allow a disable toggle for podcasts so I stop getting them inserted into recommended playlists, but how do I block a specific podcast?

The home screen of the Mac Desktop app has become a continuous advertisement for the Joe Rogan podcast, which I do not want to see nor want any chance to accidentally click on. How do I get this trash off of my home page? I'm already not thrilled with some of the podcast hosts Spotify advertises and seriously considering cancelling my subscription entirely, and forcing me to look at this stuff every time I open the app is just abother reason to get away from the whole platform.

You don't shove a whole row of music I don't like at the top of my home screen, why am I seeing a whole row dedicated to Rogan before any of my own actual preferred content?

Thanks for posting on the Community about this. 

For now it's not possible to block certain podcast shows, however, we recommend having a look at this Live Idea suggesting the implementation of an option allowing users to perform this action within the Spotify app.  

You can support the idea by adding your +VOTE and clicking on Subscribe in the three-dots menu at the top right corner next to the title. That'll make sure you stay up-to-date with any relevant updates about this. It’s also worth knowing that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for the idea to be implemented. 

We always take new ideas and feedback into consideration to improve the app. Here you can read more on how ideas work.

How about Spotify simply blocks Joe Rogan on behalf of the community?

I feel like a lot of the commenters talking about censorship are missing the point.  Spotify has already engaged in censorship.  Prior to this deal, the Joe Rogan experience was available for download on multiple platforms.  Spotify's deal actually RESTRICTED Rogan's viewership to those on Spotify.  Unfortunately, in the process, they put people like me in the position where supporting Spotify is explicitly supporting Joe Rogan.  If he was just on their platform (as he was on many platforms prior to this deal), use of their product would be not directly contribute to Rogan's coffers (as I imagine he would not be getting advertising revenue if I wasn't viewing his show).  By giving him literal HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of dollars of their company's money, I can reach no other conclusion than subscribing for Spotify Premium is working to pay for his misinformation.  I cannot and will not restart my Spotify Family subscription until the contract is ended.  I don't care if he's on the platform.  I care about whether or not my money is directly supporting him.

Ph#ck Spotify for paying, promoting, and pushing Rogan at the expense of music and music lovers. Even if he didn't suffer from disinformation diarrhea, I think Spotify should prioritize music over talk. Neil Young and Joni Mitchell are very important musicians, and who knows who else will join them...

Have always hated that Spotify doesn't allow me to upload my own music. And now this bullschitt. I only use Spotify because my gf has a Duo subscription, and now I'll try to persuade her to switch to Apple, which pays musicians better and allows users to upload their own music.

@ BaldGeezer1968 (and jc000000): Nonsense, Spotify's decision to choose Rogan over Young et al. has nothing to do with anti-censorship and everything to do with money. When what you "don't agree with" is false and dangerous, disassociating from it is arguably the right thing to do. No one is denying Rogan's freedom of speech, but many justifiably don't want to support him on this platform. Read what cthabsfan wrote. He got it right.

Spotify has a choice to help spread and profit off of lies that kill people, we all have a choice to choose another service. There are many other good services out there.

I pay Spotify to listen to music, I have listened to some podcasts but absolutely don't want this venue to become some kind of AM talk radio. I pay Spotify to avoid that kind of nonsense and the people it attractts.

That's not a business's position. The employees of a business is a different story. Doesn't that give the podcast higher membership numbers and higher prioritization in the algorithm? This doesn't seem like a good solution. This just benefits the perpetrator.

 I had 20 years in I.T. before completely getting out in 2015.  Although I still help family and friends. The first 5 years I was in coding. Then Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution on pretty much anything and everything. 
You're making a statement as if it were a question.

This UI/UX of "Shows to try" is completely unacceptable for a premium product I'm paying for

1. The "Shows to try" bar blocks easy access to the most commonly used tiles on Spotify's home page, my actual recommended playlists. I always have to scroll past it, especially egregious on mobile

2. I'm paying money for Spotify Premium, I do not expect to see advertisements, which is exactly what "Shows to try" is

The inability to disable this bar is completely out of line with Spotify's usual UX: find the music you love, fast. We need at a minimum a way to remove this bar in the settings.

Another person that googled how to do this and came across this post.  I'm a big Spotify supporter and have been for years.

Please allow us to block podcasts, especially garbage like Joe Rogan. Why is it coming up on my homepage EVERY DAY ?????
