why cant we listen to more than one device at a time offline

I have downloaded my offline music but when my wife and i want to hear our offline music on our separate devices one will transfer to the other and only one device will play at a time. what can I do about this?

Samsung S7 "Off line" mode in playlist changed to "Download/downloaded"

My S7 has Android version 6.0.1. I don't know if that should make any difference, but my playlists no longer have the Offline Mode. They now say download (grey button) or Downloaded (green button). Has anyone else noticed this.Thanks
