Discover Weekly not updating

We're getting reports stating that Discover Weekly isn't updating properly across various devices, with this week's list being almost identical to that of last week. While most people are reporting this only for this week, some say it has been happening for longer.

Could you please provide us the following:

  • Is this on all devices or only on specific one(s)? Please confirm if you see the exact same Discover Weekly list across all of your devices, including the web player.: all devices.
  • When did this start happening?Today
  • The exact makes, models and OS/Firmware versions of all your affected devices: no idea, android on a Samsung 
  • The exact Spotify version: latest, just updates yesterday.

I think my DW list today is the same as last week’s in the same order. Maybe one or two tracks different at the most.

It's the same on Mac desktop, iPhone, iPad, web app in Chrome and Android app on Amazon Fire TV. I’ve noticed occasional repeats in both DW and Release Radar lately but never this.

 

Here’s a series of screen grabs with version numbers. I need to keep my Mac running 10.15.7 Catalina to run some professional software  and I get an annoying message telling me my OS is out of date every time I launch the desktop app (yes, I know I can turn it off). iPad Spotify app version number is the same as the iPhone.

Thanks for the replies.

 

We've forwarded everything you've provided us and everything we found from our testing to the appropriate team so that this can be looked into. We'll keep you posted on any updates if and when we have them.

 

In the meantime, please keep providing us the info requested in my previous post and let us know of any changes in the behaviour.

I'm not sure if this extra information is useful or related - but last week my discovery needed additional time to appear with new songs as well. I think it was roughly 12 hours into the day.

 

This specific issue of no new discovery songs happened today though (05.05.25)

 

Unfortunately it's an account wide issue - not specific to a device. The results are the same in the webplayer, the PC and on my Android.

 

I'm running 1.2.62.580 on PC, Windows 10

On Android 15 (Pixel 7A) I'm running 9.0.40.391

Hey Joan thanks for the quick reply,

 

It’s sadly happening across all my devices, I noticed a few corresponding songs last week but this week it’s almost my whole DW.

my devices are:

1: An Ipad 18th gen with ios 16.3 and spotify 8.9.90.84

2: A samsung A52 with adroid 12 and spotify 9.0.36.697

3: A pc with windows 11 and sootify 1.2.62.580.gb27ad23e

Hi to all, it happened at midnight of today, when DW usually refreshes. I got problems on all devices, which are:
- Smartphone Oppo Find X3 Lite (version 9.0.40.391)
- PC Windows 11 (version Spotify for Windows (64 bit)

Hi all,

 

Today it's refreshed to a new playlist. I'm not sure how or why but I'm chuffed!

Mine also today refreshed with a brand new playlist, containing anyway few of the songs of yesterday (about 6 or 7) plus some new song from artist featured in former playlist. Thanks for now, but i Hope it's jusy a step for a regular playlist next monday.
