I thaught that the performance issues are my old phone's fault (Redmi Note 8 Pro), but then I saw a comment where someone changed their old phone to a new one and the issues didn't resolve. So now I think that my phone is not the problem, also the other apps on my phone work well.

For me the issue isn't that the songs don't load, song playing works perfectly for me, but for me the problem is that I can not add any new songs to my playlists (my largest playlist is 1700 songs, smallest about 20 songs), the same for podcast series, sometimes a podcast serie wouldn't play at all.

Edit: Now I can not follow new artists as well. 😞

Can't open Spotify Desktop in Windows 11, get a "Something went wrong. Try reloading the page" message. Have tried a complete uninstall and clean reinstall. Have reinstalled by downloading directly from Spotify and from the Windows store. I can't even tell what version of the app is installed, none of the menu options work with the error message on the screen.

Same here. Every interaction (basically doing anything in the app) or action by the app (e.g. switching songs) takes around 10 seconds or so.

On my ancient OnePlus 7 Pro / Android 12 / Spotify 9.1.72.1891 / EU region.

This started around a week or so ago. I find this insanely frustrating and am currently using the web-based player on my phone because having those pauses between songs was infuriating.

I tried clearing the cache, reinstalling the app, going through a VPN, and switching the DNS server. Given the age of my phone and Android version, system updates causing this can be ruled out.

I tried a couple of times to kill the app when this happened. Process termination was blocked until after the usual wait. From personal experience, this feels as if a network action was blocking and waiting for a timeout.

Cheers!

It's remarkable how incredibly sluggish Spotify has become. It's the opposite of snappy. Everything in this app is just. so. slooooow.

Opening the app? Let's wait a few seconds.

Opening a playlist? Let's wait a few seconds.

Want to add a song to a playlist? Let's wait a few seconds.

Changing to the next song? Sometimes wait a few seconds. Sometimes just doesn't work at all.

Sometimes it's not even deterministic. Switching to the next song and going back again landed me on a different song (shuffle play a playlist, no queue, ~40 song playlist).

Also, stop suggesting that the size of a user's playlist is the problem.

Winamp easily handled tens of thousands of songs twenty years ago. So why is Spotify struggling with a few hundred songs today? On devices that are faster nonetheless.

I have the newest IOS and newest version of the app. It is crashing constantly (I’m talking maybe more than every 10 minutes) and takes so long to boot up. Searching is slow, downloading is slow, deleting is slow, pausing and resuming is slow, it is just all round unusable. I have stopped using Spotify for now and am listening to audible until you guys get this issue fixed.

Audible has no issues, YouTube, rumble and many other media apps are working flawlessly, it’s just Spotify. So the problem is obviously not my device.

Hi, in the past 10~ days the spotify mobile app has been hardly functioning. Doing anything, even opening the app takes minutes to load in both online and offline mode, and after every song even downloaded ones take at least 30 seconds to play. The desktop app works perfectly fine.

Similar issues to what has been listed above. In the past few weeks it's taking forever to move between songs on a playlist or album or the queue - one song will end and then just really long pauses before the next plays. Sometimes it's unresponsive (I'll be clicking a song and nothing will happen). This happens even on wifi. It may just be a coincidence, but I do think I noticed issues around the time the AI thing got pinned towards the top of the home page (either way, I'd love to see that go away).

On my Android phone (Galaxy A53) Spotify is becoming unusable. Started over a week or so ago.Tried different suggestions with little difference. It is draining the barrery and slowing everything down. I hope the problem is fixed since paying for an unusable service isn't very interesting.
