Remember song played and open playlist when app closes

Superuser Contribution When I play samples from the recommended section under my playlist, the songs play incorrectly.

I currently have the base Spotify plan and am limited to shuffle play on my iPhone. If I upgrade to Spotify Premium will I be able to randomly select songs to play from my playlists or will I still be limited to shuffle play only ?
