What other app, besides Spotify, do I need to have before I can play music?

Hi All. I'm using the premium service on an ipod touch through a Kenwood 5160Dab.Is it posible to search through my music via the screen on the 5160?It's possible through itunes but not with Spotify?Is this just how it is?

no album art on lockscreen

when i listen to my music offline, the album art on the lockscreen is the generic music note, however when i unlock my device and open spotify, the album art is there. i would like my album art to display on my lockscreen, any help?
