Is there anyway to sync your ipod with spotify without deleting your currently existing songs?

All the guides I've seen tell you to delete your ipod library and then sync with spotify but I don't want to delete all my songs currently on the ipod. I have an ipod nano 7th generation and a premium spotify account if that helps.

Streaming while using my phone's data

Whenever I use my cellular data it stops streaming and the only way for me to hear a song is to skip the song and I don't have premium so this is quite problematic.
