downloaded data does not play if I lose mobile data signal

I have downloaded content on my iPhone. Playing that content becomes intermittent if I have no mobile signal. It seems as if the app is searching for a mobile signal and then stopping playback if it cannot find one.

Favourite songs list missing 900 songs but only on iphone

I've noticed that the list shrunk significantly (from 1200 to 300 songs). I can see the full list on the PC application, but on the iPhone app the Favourite songs list only contains 300 songs.
